Here is my third and final blog assignment. We were asked to pick a picture from the Free the Children website, and write about it and why we think it is the more important. This final assignment is on a very important topic that everyone should be educated about. If chosen as Miss Teen Canada-World, I will try to make the world a better place, and start by educating people about problems that really mean something to me. But many others shall get involved as well, the more that want to be the change he better. I encourage everyone to take a stand and do what they feel is right.

This photo above is two little girls from China or some third world country at the Free the Children school. This girls look so happy and know that they can now learn to read, write and communicate with it. It shows how proud and happy they are they now have the opportunity to be in school. Which they have not had before, and now have the ability to start an education, with the help of others. Then go farther in life, such as higher employment due to having an education. This picture really touches my heart because everyday we take things for granted just like having a good education and some drop out and make poor decisions because we are in a spoiled world and get things like education just handed to us. We need to be aware that there are people in other countries who are striving for education and need it to live. Showing these girls in the picture with so much joy on their faces can really portray to people that they need help. That it is us who need to make the difference in those children's lives and rise up.
We think sometimes that we do not have everything we need, so we just keep asking for more. But most of the times those are just wants and not needs for survival. When you look at these children from poorer countries that look overwhelmed at what they now have. Which is things like food and an education We have an incredibly huge amount of our survival needs in Canada and definitely a lot more then the people do in Africa or India for example. People who are capable of survival without help really need to be aware and help those out that don't have the necessities to live a normal life. These children and adults of the Free the Children Charity seeking help do not even have all of those and if they do they do not have much. I really hope if you are reading this it is touching your heart and you are willing to take a stand. As it is a very touching, and educational topic for everyone to look into. I am very passionate about children so having the opportunity to help them is an honour. You can probably realize now how good we have it and how much we need to help those who dont. Thank you for taking the time to read this!! It is our job to stand up and make a difference. By even donating some money, or educating other people about this will be the start of the change in our world. Hope you care about it as much as I do.
I will be leaving Red Deer tomorrow morning at 9 a.m and heading for the airport. I will arrive in Toronto tomorrow around 6:30 p.m. I am super excited and I am doing some last minute prepping. I remember my mother, aunt and other people always telling me that I will reach for the stars and that one day I would become Miss Teen Canada and change the world or star in Dancing with the Stars reality show. My dad would say I will one day be a star and would make me practice walking in a straight line following the tiles in our dining room with phone books balanced on my head, he would also dance with me as a stand on his feet. I was some what of a tomboy when I was younger who played hockey and just loved her friends and family.I had long hair that desperately needed a healthy dose of deep conditioning and detangling. To add to my stunning look, I had glasses. Eventually, my looks took its evolution. With each passing year, I looked more and more girly than the last time. In about grade 8 or grade 9, so about age 14 was when I had a drastic change and started becoming a young lady. Well now in only one week I will be in a real Miss teen pageant that has always been my wish. What really motivates me is knowing the reward that will come in the end. Even if I walk away with no crown I still believe I am a winner just like all the other finalists. The reward motivates me to keep going and I know I will succeed if I have pasion, creativity and determination. Preparation was huge, there is so much more then just that one week of the pageant. You really got to be a well-rounded person to be able to surpass the prepping. Some things I have done to prepare is picking out the clothing, staying fit since dance had ended a couple months ago, doing community service, preparing for the interview portion, fundraising for free the children and practicing for the talent show. In which I will be dancing. More important to me was the charity work I was able to do.Fundraising for free the children had a lot of commitment and work. It was fun and it makes me feel so great knowing I have done what I needed to do to help out this charity.

I hope what I have done really made a difference. I had done a garage sale fundraiser and BBQ to help in raising money for this charity. Both events had much preparation and work but it was amazing to participate in. I believe it is very important to give money to free the children because it gets people aware of many of the issues involved in mostly the third world countries. It is an amazing feeling to help out and be the change. This cause is very close to my heart because I love working with children, that is why Iplan on being a child psychologist when i am older. I believe working with children is fantastic and seeing them without good water, education or even food really upsets me. I am honoured to be part of the volunteer fundraising team for the free the children charity. I have achieved so much since this competition started. On stage preforming is something I am rather good at so I did not need as much help with that. But my interview on the other hand needed some help. I have been working very hard trying to raise my skills in speaking. I believe public speaking is an issue in teens today, a lot of teens get very nervous and uncomfortable talking in front of crowds or judges and Ifeel if they get comfortable with themselves they will get better at public speaking. I also got to do a ton of volunteering with my tittle, my favorite was definitely the Central Alberta Children's Festival of course because children are close to my heart. I did some summer camps as well with children and I was honoured to influence them and speak with them. My most memorable time at the camp was when this little girl would asked to wear my crown the first day, then the next day brought her own and had the hugest smile on her face saying "now Ihave one just like you" and she really felt that she was a princess and that's exactly what I wanted to see. Being in this competition rose my confidence even higher, allowed me to expand my volunteerism and brought so much of an experience . My major issue was trying to raise the money and finding sponsors. I really did try but many were not interested. I was honoured to get a few and they helped me in reaching the amount $2000 needed to enter the nationals. To over come that Ikept trying and trying for months and did not give up even when I wanted to. Well look now im off to nationals and it really paid off that I did not give up. Itis my dream to represent Canada. I have worked for a while now and so much preparation has gone into it. Now it’s finally here, and the competition begins in a week. It’s just a really exciting time. A lot of people just don’t understand what the organization is about and what the girls do. It’s more than a crown. It’s more than make-up and big hair. It’s a scholarship, becoming a role model in your local area and taking it to the national level, intelligent young ladies, about people who care and that's what I am willing to prove. The things that the Miss Teen Canada finalist have done are incredible. I hope to have the best experience, and meet the most amazing people. Iant to help teens across the nation and talk about the most important issues. My motto is "The stars exist so that we may know how high our dreams can go".I am looking forward to being a good positive role model. It will change my life because it will open new doors and show that I can make Canada a better place and use my creativity. Qualities of warmth, compassion, great smile and much more is what a posses.
Feel like you got talent, and gotta hit the stage. Wanna be on top. Do you feel your the one, do you got what it takes to become a "DDouble Star".
The "New" hit of Canadian television presents DDouble SStar a new reality competition show. Season 1 Premiers September 3 on CTV 9/8 c. Where one person between the age of 15 and 30 can compete against thousands to win the spotlight. Portraying two kinds of art type talents. Could be dancing, singing, acting or music. This is where some one must put together the most outrageous performance that Canada has ever seen and present their unbelievable talents they posses. I am very passionate about dancing which is one of my favorite things to do, but I also love singing and acting so I think it would be excellent to have a show in Canada where people can portray more then one talent. Therefore I would be the main judge and host for this competition show. It does not seem that Canada is as much into talent and the arts as America is and I believe it is very important o give Canadians the oportunity to be able to follow their dreams and have the same chances as any American to get into the industry. Making this show would really focus on my life because the arts like dancing and singing have and do play a huge part in my everyday life. Also my platform is promoting a healthy and active living, and is about being yourself and following your dreams. In which this show would have a ton to do with, because this show will allow people to gain confidence, realize their full potential and find their own selves which is something I feel very strongly about. I am also a very determined person and I would love the chance to host my own reality show and become a role model to the contestants. The contestants themselves may even grown into become fantastic role models for Canadians.
How it will work is I will travel across Canada to each of the provinces and depending on how many apply for the auditions I will choose I good amount. Traveling to:
Vancouver, British Columbia
Calgary, Alberta
Regina, Saskatchewan
Winnipeg, Manitoba
Toronto, Ontario
Montreal, Quebec
St.Johns, Newfoundland
Halifax, Nova Scotia
and
Fredericton, Newbrunswick
After picking people from the auditions we move to
Stage 1: The contestants who make it past auditions now move to stage 1.Which is held in Toronto, Ontario. Here they will compete against people of the same genre of talent as themselves. They will then have to learn a form of their genre and be able to present it to the judges as a group. Then about half of the amount of people will move onto the nex stage to becoming a DDouble SStar.
Stage 2: Is when the contestants hit the big stage for Canada to see for themselves. This is the last stage where the judges make the decisions. In this stage contstants work in small groups or partnerships. They must learn a routine according to their type of talents and preform to their best ability.
Stage 3: Top 20 compete in partnership with another contestant with the same talent. They must make up their own performance and now it is up to Canada to decide who should be the DDouble SStar.
Stage 4: Top 10 compete and preform an individual routine made up by famouse musicians, choreographers, singers etc. Depending on their genre of talents. Then Canadians vote to choose the top 5.
Stage 5: Top 5 compete and perform 2 of their own routines to try a woo the crowd. It can be anything they want. Then the winner is chosen by Canadians.
My 3 Sponsors

1.The Yorkville Club. http://www.theyorkvilleclub.com
I chose the Yorkville Club because I believe that physical activity is very important to have in a healthy lifestyle. It will also have to do with the physical portion of my talent competition show, for example dance. Along with keeping yourself healthy it is also important in looking and feeling great! (winner will receive a season pass and do comercials for the the Yorkville Club )

2.FAZE Magazine. http://www.fazeteen.com
With a magazine as your sponsor your guaranteed good publicity and most likely lots of it. Which is exactly what you need when doing your own TV show. The more people that know about your show, the higher audience rate you will achieve. (When the judges are judging onstage they will always have a faze magazine with them) (people in audience will all get complementary faze magazines ( winner will be on cover and have an aritcle about thier exsperience) (Top twenty will appear in the magazine)
3.Balmshell. http://www.balmshell.com
Every girl has a special night to look forward to. Whether it's a dance, a date, an awards night, or off to the movies with your friends or family, BalmShell products always provide fresh makeup products for almost every age. Everyone wants to look fantastic while preforming on stage and national TV, so why not use some Balmshell make up. All contestants will be put in balm shell make up while on preforming on the stage. This will help them stay fabulous looking . Also all people in audience will get complementary samples of makeup.
Will this show be a hit??
Of course, it will be a huge hit. People love reality competition TV shows with all its memories, drama and excitement it brings. As long as its entertaining, has lovable contestants and judges it will attract a great audience. It also contains all of the characteristics a good show should. Everyone needs to have a role model that's young, knowledgeable, determined and new to look up to. Also to have an opportunity to have an opportunity to reach their full potential and pursue their dreams. It is going to leave the audience wanting more and wondering what will happen next.
